Constipation and Bloating
Constipation and bloating (essentially waste storage)—the cause of most common tummy troubles around the world. More than 6 million people visit a healthcare provider every year just to get things moving again! Every year, on average —3000 clients ranging from ages 8 – 94 visit our clinic for the same problem!
Constipation—storing waste—having a tough time pooping— not pooping often enough. This happens to kids and adults, men and women, and often brings a bunch of unwanted side effects along for the ride, like bloating, stomach aches, brain fog, fatigue, lower back pain, weight gain, body odor, and even hemorrhoids (ouch!).
While occasional backups happen to almost everyone, chronic constipation can really throw off your groove. It can cause lifelong chronic issues, turning simple things into a daily struggle.
5 Signs You Are Storing Waste

Infrequent Bowel Movements
If you’re not pooping at least 1–3 times a day, your colon is backed up! Ideally, we should be eliminating waste as regularly as we are eating. A healthy “transit time” (that’s how long it takes food to move through your system) is about 12 to 48 hours. The longer poop hangs out in your colon, the more water it loses—making it dry, hard, and tougher to pass.
Difficulty Passing Stool / Not Pooping Enough
A few common culprits include not getting enough fiber, not drinking enough water, certain medications (like painkillers & anxiety meds), stress, processed and heavily fried foods, and not moving your body enough.
Your gut loves plants, water, and a good walk!

Pebble Poop?
Constipation poop usually shows up dry, firm, and lumpy—definitely not the smooth exit we all hope for. The longer poop sits in your large intestine, the more water it loses, which makes it even harder and tougher to pass. Not drinking enough water or getting enough fiber can make things worse. And let’s be real—trying to push out dry, stubborn stool can be downright painful, cause hemorrhoids, and tear rectal tissue.
Bloating and Smelly Gas?
When poop hangs out too long in your colon, it starts to ferment—that means more gas, bloating and constipation! This build-up can throw off your gut microbiome and leave you feeling achy, inflamed, heavy, and downright uncomfortable. That tight, gassy belly isn’t just annoying—it’s your gut’s way of saying, “Hey, I need a little help here!”
Fatigue & Brain Fog

Feeling tired all the time? Constipation might be part of the reason. When your gut isn’t moving properly, it can lead to poor sleep, reduced nutrient absorption, and even the reabsorption of toxins back into your bloodstream—your body starts recycling the stuff it’s trying to get rid of! This can leave you feeling drained, foggy, and unfocused. Brain fog is especially common when your gut is in a state of imbalance (a.k.a. dysbiosis), which can mess with your energy, mental clarity, and ability to concentrate.
Changes on the Scale?
Believe it or not, the average person can carry 5–7 kg (that’s 11–15 lbs!) of stool in their colon. Yep—if you’re not going to the toilet regularly, all that waste can build up and compact, which might show up on the scale as extra weight. It can also lead to bloating, fluid retention, and that heavy, sluggish feeling. So if you’re gaining weight or finding it tough to lose those love handles, your colon might be more backed up than you think!
Tried Everything?
If you’ve been battling constipation and bloating, you’ve probably tried just about everything—chugging water like a camel, piling on fiber like it’s going out of style, cutting out processed foods, popping probiotics, downing supplements, and maybe even jumping on that latest trendy diet bandwagon. Sound familiar?
Yeah, we get it. When things still don’t move along, it’s super frustrating—and honestly, kind of exhausting. Like your gut’s playing a long, stubborn game of “hold it in” and winning every round. That’s where we come in—let it go…
