Boosters: A Little Extra Love for Your Gut

Colonic Boosters: A Little Extra Love for Your Gut

Because sometimes your gut deserves a little something extra!

At Let It Go, we believe that no two guts are alike. What works beautifully for one person may not be what another digestive system needs.

That’s why we take a personalized approach to colonic boosters—optional natural additives introduced during a colon hydrotherapy session.

We generally recommend becoming familiar with colon hydrotherapy through a few regular sessions before considering a booster. Your therapist will discuss your digestive history, individual needs, and whether an add-on is appropriate for you.

After all, more isn’t always better. Sometimes, keeping things simple is exactly what your gut needs.

What Is a Colonic Booster?

A colonic booster is a natural additive introduced through the water inlet during, or in the final stage of a colon hydrotherapy treatment.

Depending on the formulation and your comfort, the solution may be retained briefly, anywhere from 3-10 minutes.

Boosters are an optional addition to your treatment, not a requirement.

Our philosophy is simple: Your gut. Your history. Your personalized approach.

When Should I Add a Booster?

Not necessarily on your first visit! In fact, we don’t recommend it generally.

We prefer to get to know your gut before introducing anything extra. Once you’ve experienced a few regular colonics, your therapist can discuss whether a booster might be appropriate.

We consider your digestive history, sensitivities, current health, and treatment goals.

And remember, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned colonic without the bells and whistles.

Are Enemas and Boosters the Same Thing?

Not quite! Although both involve introducing fluid into the lower digestive tract, there’s an important difference.

Enemas are standalone procedures that introduce liquid into the rectum and lower colon, typically using an enema bag or similar equipment.

Colonic boosters are optional solutions introduced during a colon hydrotherapy session rather than as a separate procedure.

The method of administration, ingredients, and intended purpose may differ.

Meet Our Boosters

Chlorophyll — The Green Goodness

Traditionally associated with plant-based wellness to support inflammation, detoxification, odour control, or parasite elimination.

Chlorophyll is the naturally occurring pigment that gives plants their beautiful green colour.

It’s a familiar ingredient in the wellness world, often associated with antioxidant activity and traditional digestive-support practices.

We assess individual suitability before considering this option.

Black Walnut — The Traditional Herbal

Black walnut hulls have a history of use in traditional herbal preparations, particularly those associated with digestive and parasite-related concerns.

Some of their naturally occurring compounds have demonstrated antimicrobial activity in laboratory studies. Because concentrated herbal preparations can cause irritation or allergic reactions, black walnut is not appropriate for everyone.

A little gut wisdom: Suspect parasites? Proper testing and diagnosis come first. A booster should never replace medical treatment for a confirmed infection.

Bifidobacterium — The Friendly Bacteria

Because your gut has a whole community living inside it! Our probiotic booster features a proprietary blend of five bacterial strains selected with gut microbial balance in mind, designed to assist with colonization of gut bacteria and improve digestive health.

Your large intestine is home to trillions of microorganisms, including beneficial bacteria that contribute to digestion and normal immune function. The idea behind this approach is to introduce beneficial bacteria directly into the large intestine.

Bifidobacterium is one of the best-known groups of beneficial bacteria found naturally in the human gut.

For clients interested in probiotics, we can also discuss more established approaches, including appropriate oral probiotics and nutrition.

Fun gut fact: Your appendix may act as a reservoir for certain beneficial gut bacteria. But don’t worry if yours has been removed—you can add probiotic boosters to help maintain a healthy gut microbiome without an appendix.

Coffee — The Back Door Brew ☕

An extra shot of tradition for your gut! Coffee boosters are traditionally associated with liver support, bile flow, and detoxification.

Coffee isn’t just for your morning cup anymore!

Our coffee booster features Back Door Brew, our very own specialty blend of green, white, and brown coffee beans, carefully sourced from a family farm and tested in our clinic for over two years.

Introduced during, or near the end of your colonic session, this optional booster draws on the traditional use of coffee in digestive wellness practices. Coffee naturally contains caffeine and palmitic acid derivatives, compounds that have been studied for their biological properties.

A little gut wisdom: Coffee boosters aren’t suitable for everyone. Your therapist will discuss potential risks, including irritation and fluid or electrolyte disturbances, before considering this addition to your treatment.

A little brew for your back door!

Does Everyone Need a Booster?

Absolutely not!

At Let It Go, we’re not interested in adding something just for the sake of adding it.

Every digestive system has its own story, and our job is to listen, understand, and help you make informed decisions.

Boosters are optional, and they aren’t suitable for everyone. Your therapist will review potential sensitivities and contraindications before discussing any additive.

Our goal is always the same: a thoughtful, comfortable, individualized experience.

Ready to Give Your Gut Some Attention?

Whether you’re new to colon hydrotherapy or a familiar face at Let It Go, we’re here to help you explore your options.

Good gut conversations start here.

Boosters can promote a healthy gut flora composition and support overall GI health. Delivery of probiotics right where you need them!

Please note: Colonic boosters are wellness add-ons, not medical treatments. They are not intended to diagnose, prevent, or treat infections, SIBO, parasites, or other medical conditions.

The science may still be catching up, but we are paying attention.

While there isn’t sufficient scientific evidence to confirm the benefits of colonic boosters, we continue to received encouraging feedback from clients year after year. We value those firsthand experiences, while recognizing that personal improvements don’t necessarily prove a treatment is effective.

At Let It Go, we combine practical experience, thoughtful observation, and a personalized approach to every gut we meet.
